Nearest grocer is logistically most acceptable
Food stored in shop refrigerator should be transported to home refrigerator with as little temperature drop as possible. For that nearest grocery store should result in best quality food. Low fall of temperature while transporting food to home refrigerator/freezer keep food healthy even in hottest summer.

World wide statistics with Geographically neutral data
Geographically neutral statistics presents distribution of some data over geographical area with no attention to state borders, size and population.
Neutral data means that data data statistics apply to geographical world not political world. Political maps differ from physical maps.
Now let's compare data as it would look sorted by medals/capita:
The biggest fall is seen by countries with big population like China and USA.
What would be "politically neutral" conclusion? People who live near equator don't get much medals at winter Olympic games.

Indoor temperature can be quickly adjusted with airconditioning when out activity change.
Some activites involve sweating. Lower temperature or droping some clothes will make sweating less intense. Right temperature can boost physical&mental performance in critical moments.

Culture shock possible for frequent web user?
People who surf web more than few hours a day are in risk of culture shock. Many websites are located in California and that is the culture that dominate English-speaking web.
Example: Obesity is common problem in California. Frequent web-sufer from UK may start fighting against obesity which is not as common in UK as in California. Culture shock happens in London.
Online and offline culture shock is probable for any people. Changing environment should be controlled.

Second-hand is chance to wear out things different way
Second-hand shops are all around where used stuff is exchanged.
Different people use things different way and wear out clother differently.
Picture:Second-hand athletic shoes in north Africa. Athletic shoes worn for running can serve many years for different use like farming. Different usage wears out clothes in different way.
Costumer society believe that only new athletic shoe will result in perfect jogging and thus shecond-hand shops and donation containers become promising way of waste recycling.
Another example:Many bloggers want to get hands on the latest technology to make reviews. Later they can hand over their gadgets to second-hand tech shops.

Hack:Force receiving mail internationally on websites that send US-only
How to cheat on webforms when selecting country?
When you want to order something online you are faced with online form. This form may not allow your country. If you want to force it to send that post-mail anyway you can try hacking address form:
Let's select the same country where the website is located. And when it comes to city write something like this: England - London (your country and city)
There is chance that postman will deliver it to right address. I got it! =)
However try getting non-international mail internationally only as last resort!

Locked cellphone display illumination?
When using cellphone display as small portable light source there is a common problem that lcd display backlight turns off after certain period of time.
Options:
1. Try locking cellphone illumination by entering game or application.
2. If this won't help you can check if phone has some "system" menus which may be accessible by entering special code. System menus will keep illumination.
Usage examples:
-pedestrian light
-light when there is no other source (in forest)
-ambient light
-long search for dropped keys in dark

Filmmaker Trevor Ward stopped by Thursday, June 17th, for a special privet screening of I Met With An Accident. Afterwards he stayed for a Q&A about the film. Below are a few highlights from the Q&A.
Q: How long were you in India?
Trevor- It took 4 years, going from America to India, to complete the filming.
Q: How big was your crew?
Trevor- It was just me and my camera.
Q: Did you employ any "Michael Moore" style tactics of manipulation?
Trevor- I had an idea of the story I wanted to tell, but when it came to filming I didn't have an agenda.
"I loved this project, and it was like mining for gold."
"I never manipulated him (Benedict), I always asked, can I?"
Thanks again to Trevor Ward for coming to Ai and Screening his film for Rough Cut. The picture was great and having the experience to pick a unique filmmaker's mind was a rare opportunity.

Talk to more people to hear more stories.
Why is important to be in touch with as many people as possible?
If you talk always with the same people you will always hear the "same" stories.
If you talk always with the same people you will always hear the "same" stories.
To increase your connections go around and talk to as many people as you can. People you barely know, haven't seen for ages or perfect strangers.
Eventualy you will hear more stories.

Member of the Month-June 2010-Tyler Holland
I recently sat down with newly elected Rough Cut president, Matt Jimenez, and discussed the future of the club. Among many exciting plans Matt has for Rough Cut, he is perhaps most excited about the addition of a monthly article for this blog, which highlights one member who has gone above and beyond his or her expectations. This honor will be given to club members based on their participation in club events, and overall positive presence within Rough Cut. When the topic of who might be honored first was brought up, there was no discussion needed.
Rough Cut Member of the Month
Tyler Holland
by Robert S. Pearson
Matt Jimenez-
I've worked with Tyler pretty early on in the film course. The guy has a great attitude and has always been there for me in whatever help I need for projects, or class work. He's contributed a lot to Rough Cut, through promotions, supporting me, the club and the addition of his unusual humor makes things that much more fun.Ben Hammond-
The first time I met Tyler I was in Fundamentals of Video Production. Right away we hit it off as both friends and filmmakers. I directed a project we did for class and Tyler was the camera operator. His camera work was amazing and I gave him the name "The Human Tripod". Ever since then we have worked on a lot of projects together and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Tyler is one of those people who brings a good attitude to any project and works really hard to make it the best. He is now one of my best friends and also one of the more respected filmmakers at school.

Label devices with their status, characteristic or just names
Disassembled but working optical drive marked with possible (?) danger of destroying-scratching optical medium
Storing plenty of devices and labeling them with names, characteristics, and other status information make management (reuse, recycle) of these devices easier.

Alternative to headphones: Very close speakers allow private audio listening
These loudspeakers on pillow allow to listen to loud audio.
Please read first about bed computers to understand better what are these localized speakers are used for
In opposition of headphones speakers don't touch my head and i can move myself a bit. Listening can start in no time, and getting into good postions is quicker that putting on headphones.

Script: Temporary stop P2P transfers and surf Web at full speed
How to transfer files and while mantaining perfect webbrowsing speeds?
There exist programs like Cfosspeed and Netlimiter that allow high-speed websurfing while transferring files but they are not freeware, consume memory, and don't give perfect speeds like next script:
Little script runs in background and stops transfers while webrowser is active. Script keeps surf speed perfect.
Run this bash script at (linux) startup:
Please change Transmission to yout p2p-clients name and Firefox to your browser.
To make application start invisibly send it to other desktop:
transmissio&
altdesktop=`wmctrl -d | grep "-" | awk '{ print $1 }'`
sleep 0.5
#repeat next lines few times
wmctrl -R Transmission -t $altdesktop&
wmctrl -r Transmission -t $altdesktop&
sleep 0.1

Monthly Filmmaker Spotlight
June 2010
By Robert S. Pearson
I met Matt in my 4th quarter at Ai, and I could tell right away that he was an easy going guy with a desire to learn. Matt has worked on all the projects I have headed outside of school, as well as most of my projects for class. He is a valuable asset to any set, and his positive reputation recently won him the title of Ai Tampa Rough Cut President. I am proud of Matt and how far he's come in the last few years, so I thought who better to invite into the Spotlight than Matt Jimenez. As with all the filmmaker Spotlights, I started by asking Matt, why film?
Matt-
For the longest time I was just kind of floating by, writing, drawing, acting, and even photography. I considered them more of hobbies at the time, but then there was a situation where I might not be able to do any of those things at all and stuck working at a job I hate. I felt like I was wilting, I decided to combine all of the art I love to do and go to school. I'm very visual, I have ideas, pictures, and entire movies in my head that I want to see come to life on the screen.
With such a diverse group of interests, I asked Matt about some of his influences outside of filmmaking.
Matt-
My biggest influence has always been my family, they have always supported me. I've never really run into the problems of people telling me I couldn't do want I want or not supporting me, I'm very fortunate to be surrounded by people who support me and want me to be successful and happy.
One of my favorite questions is alway, who are some of your favorite filmmakers?
Favorite Filmmakers
With inspiration coming from filmmakers that tell such colorful stories, I asked Matt about his over all goal as a filmmaker.
Matt-
My over goal as a filmmaker is do make my ideas comes to life and hopefully be successful and happy at it whether through directing, writing or whatever means to make that happen. I want to work on big movie sets and work my way up to the top learning and gaining as much experience as I can.
Next I asked Matt about his favorite films.
Favorite Movies
I was curious what Matt's plans for the future are.
Matt-
My plans are to see Rough Cut grow and expand. I want to see all film students become excited and to use Rough Cut as a useful resource for meeting other filmmakers, learning about the industry, finding what they are best at and what they want to do. At the very least to just be apart of something.
Special Thanks
Matt-
Special thanks to Johanna Jimenez (my mother), Robert S. Pearson, Tyler Holland, Ben Hammond and Tom Hammond for all their support and encouragement.
I want to thanks Matt for stepping into the Spotlight and congratulate him again on being elected Rough Cut president.
