Stephen Hawking - do wheelchairs push people to think more?

Does less moving make you think more. Stephen Hawking is brilliant physicist who is barely able to move. Does such condition make "want-to-live" person think more?

It's for sure that people who are blind know how to use their ears better, but can they use their brians better as well? In a world full of various informations blindnes can be also filter information.

Many people on wheelchair are sucessfull bloggers (example).

S. Hawking Facts:

1.
Hawking was riding horses when he was young.

2.
Hawking gradually lost the use of his arms, legs, and voice, and as of 2009 has been almost completely paralysed
from:wikipeida article
3. (before paralisis)

It's hard
-to say that paralisis lead Hawkings to "understanding&enlightment"
or
-to say that same Hawaking paralisis is leading world to "non understanding" of Cosmical mysteries inside Hawking brains? (that may be not open source)
